Syracuse has a slumlord problem. The City of Syracuse has failed to appropriately punish and regulate these slumlords, so STU and the STOP! Coalition are taking matters into our own hands and organizing tenants to fight back against slumlords’ egregious actions.

JOHN KIGGINS, ENDZONE PROPERTIES

responsible for the death of Zakiya Bell, a 13-year old who lost her life in a house fire because Kiggins failed to provide the option of heat and electricity, a code violation turned fatal

poisoned 18 children of color from lead paint violations (at least 11 violations from 2017-2019)

failed to address over 200 code violations from 2016-2019

from 2016-2019, Kiggins received $998,000 in public rent subsidies from the Onondaga County Department of Social Services

sued multiple times by the City of Syracuse

jailed in 2006 for neglecting to respond to code violations

jailed in 1991 for mortgage fraud
